How to identify weeds

Postby HorsfieldPaul » Wed Jun 17, 2015 7:42 pm

Being a new tortoise keeper I have had a lot to learn so I would like to share this information with others who might struggle with identifying safe weeds for their tortoises. Firstly I found a list of good/ok/bad weeds on this site ... ssection=6 Then I realised I didn't know where or when they grow. And I found this web site By cross referencing I now have a much better idea where and when and what the weeds I want look like!! Thanks to these sites my 2 tiny torts are enjoying a varied natural diet. I hope this post will help other keepers be bold and go out to find tortoise friendly food and treat their shelled friends.

Thanks Paul!
There'll be a few of us on here who know about the thetortoisetable, but the idea of cross-referencing with the wildflowerfinder is a great idea!
