Important information re Recycle4charity

Postby Joan » Tue Apr 14, 2015 3:22 pm

I have just received this information from Recycle4charity:

Mobile Phones Policy Change

Unfortunately as of 01/04/2015 we can no longer make a donation to the charity of your choice for mobile phones received via our Freepost recycling bags/envelopes.
Due to Royal Mail's policy changes in prohibited goods we can no longer accept mobile phones via Freepost bags, and we may start to incur a surcharge for receiving each one.

The Royal mail changes came into force back in 2013 and we tried to communicate this to you by removing all mobile phone advertising from the Freepost recycling bags. This however has not been totally successful as we are still receiving them via the bags.

We have been warned, with the threat of a surcharge, that we must do more to remove them from the Royal Mail Freepost system and have no further option but to remove all donations to the charity of your choice for mobiles received in this way.

We are sorry that Royal Mails prohibited goods policy, and now our mobile phone policy, has affected both you and your charity, however we can still recycle these items in return for a donation if they are returned via our Free Recycling Boxes!

Please order a small Free Desktop Recycling Box if you still wish to carry on recycling your mobiles in return for a donation to the charity of your choice.
(A minimum of 25 inkjets and/or mobiles are needed to qualify for a free collection).
This policy change does not affect the donation or ability to recycle inkjet cartridges through the Freepost recycling bags.
