North facing garden

Hi, I’ve just found an almost dream home, down side is a north facing garden. I’ve always kept tropical species but part of the reason for the move is more outdoor space and to keep Meds outdoors. How much of an issue is a north facing garden with a greenhouse setup? Based in Yorkshire.

Hi there .

I have a greenhouse setup in our garden up here in the Borders , and it is about North facing , great in the summer but the sun is gone out the garden around late October , and does not come in again until march . I do have a heated tortoise kennel in the greenhouse though , and I do have it very rocky in there as it would be so damp . When it is to cold , my tortoise comes into the house into the tortoise table until hibernation .

Hope this helps .
