Hasn't the law changed regarding re-homing Yellow Bellied sliders? Mary

Hi Mary yes the law changed 2016 regarding three species of Turtle commonly sold in the pet trade,Red ear slider,Yellow bellied slider and the Cumberland slider all members of the Trachemys genus, not be sold, given away, released into the wild,bred...now the two pictured looked to me to be Suwannee cooters...very similar to YBS..we only had a description from the previous owner to go on and if you had seen the conditions they were kept in no one would have walked away from them..they were in danger probably dead by now..hope I've got the species correct or the Turtle sheriff will be after me..

Thanks Joe not sure who will police this re-homing as think it will lead to even more terrapins being abandoned!

Really? Not even given away? That makes it very difficult to rehome them, then!

These two have certainly found a wonderful new home.

Well done again Joe.
