no male no eggs?

Hello there,

I have heard somewere that when there is no male in a group of testudo species that after a few years the females will stop laying. They only will start laying eggs from te moment there is a male afaileble again and mating start place. I have never heard of that do you???

There is some truth to it.... not invariably so, but it certainly can be the case. Similarly, introducing a male will often re-trigger laying. This can be quite risky after a very long period without laying....
