Twists & turns. After the court sequestration of the CARAPAX site on the 17th April 09, an appeal from an apparent Belgium group RANA (Reptile et Amphibians de la Nature), has had the sequestration overturned. On the 4th June 09 the site was handed back too the former management to run it and open it once again to the General Public.
Whilst the matter remains a complicated legal tussle, which is likely to continue for the remaider of this year. For the time being, this is seen as a reprieve and also a victory by the management of the centre. Their Website projects the letter of support from Professor Peter Pritchard, and other European academics, and of course, rails against the "Criminal" actions of the Italian state and their agents in causing death and mayhem on their beautiful site in Tuscany.
One of their other major supporters in Europe, the Dutch "Stichting Schildpad", on their own web site even claims the full support of the VIRGIN group, all 88,000 employees for the CARAPAX, and presumably its management?
Whilst all of these events have taken place, it seems that none of the questions posed by letters, and mail detailing the very many concerns on the management and ethos of this site have been answered.
A very strange circumstance indeed?
